I heard so many people asking, what is a cost per click, what is pay per click marketing, what is PPC, what is paid search marketing, and so on. Digital Marketing comes with so many acronyms and this is the reason people get confused after hearing these terms. In this article, you will see the difference between PPC and CPC. So that you can understand its importance and apply it in your marketing strategy.

What is PPC or paid advertisement?

PPC stands for pay per click. In pay per click, you have to invest the amount as per the estimate provided by Google Adwords. When you add keywords to your ad campaign, Google Adwords will show you the amount required to run the campaign.

Once you figure out the budget, you can add the amount to Google Adwords to start your ad campaign. In other words, PPC means you have to pay the specified amount for each click. This is the amount you have to place in Google Adwords to start the campaign.

What is CPC or cost per click?

After Setting your ad campaign, it’s time to go live. Once your ads start running you have to measure the relevancy, and efficiency of your ads. This is the time when CPC plays an important role. Here you can measure the amount we invested while setting up the ads and now it’s time to see the amount debited when someone clicks on the ad.

When someone clicks on the ad and the amount cut comes under CPC that is a cost per click. That’s the reason we need to figure out these two terms carefully. The invested amount can’t be the same; it fluctuates and that amount comes under the CPC.

The formula for CPC calculation
(Total Money Spent) ÷ (Total Measured Clicks) = Cost Per Click

At the end

Hope you have understood the difference between PPC and CPC. Next time, be careful while setting up your campaign.
